Passo Sella (2,244 m) connects Val Gardena with Val di Fassa, wedging between the Sella Group and the imposing Sassolungo massif. The view from the summit is among the most photographed in the Alps.

It is the starting point for numerous hikes — including the classic circuit of the Sassolungo — and a stage on the Sellaronda. During peak season, traffic restrictions are in place on certain days.

The climb to the pass is a favourite for cyclists and motorcyclists completing the celebrated "four-passes loop". From the top, the Sass Pordoi cable car and the chairlift towards Rifugio Friedrich August open up in minutes sweeping views stretching from the Sassolungo to the Marmolada.
