The road cycling granfondo over the Dolomite passes, Sunday 4 July 2027: three routes of 138, 106 and 55 km, starting from La Villa at 6:30 and finishing in Corvara. You get in through a draw.

The Maratona dles Dolomites is a road cycling granfondo held on the first Sunday of July over the passes of Alta Badia and the valleys around it. The fortieth edition is Sunday 4 July 2027: assembly from 5:30, start at 6:30 in La Villa, finish in Corvara.

There are three routes and you can still choose between them during the race. The Maratona is 138 kilometres with 4,230 metres of climbing and crosses Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Giau, Valparola and the Mür dl Giat. The Medio is 106 kilometres with 3,130 metres. The Sellaronda is 55 kilometres with 1,780 metres and has no results and no prize-giving.

You cannot simply sign up. There is a 3 euro pre-registration between 14 October and 10 November 2026, then a draw in the second half of November. Those drawn pay 175 euro by 10 December 2026 and complete the entry between 10 February and 26 May 2027. Those left out can try the 400 charity entries at a higher price, on sale from 25 November 2026 (200 places) and from 18 March 2027 (the other 200).

Good to know

  • Admission: Watching from the roadside costs nothing. To ride you pay a 3 euro pre-registration and then a 175 euro entry fee, but only if you are drawn in the lottery.
  • When: Sunday 4 July 2027. Assembly from 5:30 and start at 6:30 in La Villa; finish in Corvara, prize-giving at 15:30 in the ice rink.
  • The roads on the course are closed to traffic for most of the race, and the closure applies to cyclists without a number too. The exact times are published once the prefectures confirm them: if you are moving around the area that day, check them on the site first.
  • No ticket is needed to watch. The passes and the hairpins are the best places, but get there early or walk up, because the road then closes.
  • To ride you need a 2027 amateur cycling licence and a medical certificate of fitness for competitive cycling (art. 5 D.M. 18/02/1982): certificates for other sports are not valid. The minimum age is 18.
  • Bib collection is at the events hall in San Leonardo/Badia: Wednesday 30 June and Thursday 1 July from 20:30 to 22:30, Friday 2 from 14:00 to 19:00, Saturday 3 from 10:00 to 19:00. You collect it in person only, with valid ID.
  • Support from private vehicles following the race is banned and leads to disqualification.
  • If you enter and then cannot come, the fee is not refunded and the entry does not carry over to the next year: the organisers suggest cancellation insurance. The total number of places is not published.
