Mountain running below the Pale di San Martino, Saturday 3 July 2027: routes of 42, 26 and 16 kilometres plus a 6.5 km Family Trail, all finishing in Fiera di Primiero.

The Primiero Dolomiti Marathon is a mountain running race held between San Martino di Castrozza and the Primiero valley, below the Pale di San Martino. There are four routes, they start from different places and they all finish in Fiera di Primiero.

The twelfth edition is Saturday 3 July 2027. The 42K starts at 8:30 from Villa Welsperg, in Val Canali: 1,243 metres of climbing and 1,543 of descent. The 26K starts at 10:15 from San Martino di Castrozza, with 448 metres up and 1,198 down. The 16K, called the Vanoi Trail, starts at 11:00 from Zortea in the Lozen valley, with 389 metres up and 703 down. The 6.5 km Family Trail starts at 9:45 from Fiera di Primiero and is not competitive.

Most of the running is off tarmac: on the 42K, 36 per cent is forest road, 29 per cent asphalt, 20 per cent trail and 15 per cent mule track. The time limit is 8 hours for the 42K, with cut-offs at San Martino di Castrozza by 12:45, Lago di Calaita by 13:45 and Passo Gobbera by 15:15. For the 26K the limit is 5 hours. Aid stations come every four or five kilometres and the kilometre markers count down, showing how many are left.
