A ski mountaineering race in pairs around the Sella group, at night: 42 km and 2,700 metres of climbing, starting from Arabba at 18:00 on Friday 19 March 2027.
The Sellaronda Skimarathon is a ski mountaineering race that goes around the Sella group in the dark. You race in pairs and the two athletes must always stay together, never more than twenty metres apart, with a headlamp fixed to the helmet. The official site gives 42 kilometres and 2,700 metres of positive elevation gain.
The thirty-third edition is Friday 19 March 2027. Start and finish rotate every year among the valleys around the Sella: in 2027 it is Arabba's turn, with the gun at 18:00 from Sorieghe, at the Portavescovo cable car station. The route climbs the Pordoi, the Sella, the Gardena and the Campolongo and drops down to Canazei, Selva di Val Gardena and Corvara; inside Canazei there is a stretch to cover on foot.
The time limit is 6 hours and 45 minutes. The cut-offs are at Canazei after 1 hour 35, at Selva after 3 hours 20, at Corvara after 4 hours 50 and at Passo Campolongo after 6 hours 10. Registration opens on Tuesday 26 January 2027, around 9:00: places go in order of arrival, there is no draw, and the total is 550 teams.
