Snowshoeing in the Dolomites: snowshoe routes

Snowshoe routes on fresh snow, from easy walks to expert trails, through snow-covered valleys and woods.

Snowshoes are the simplest way to walk on fresh snow without sinking, and to discover the Dolomites in winter away from the slopes. Here you'll find snowshoe routes sorted by difficulty: from easy walks along valley floors and through the woods, suitable for families and beginners, to longer snowshoe trails that climb towards panoramic huts and alpine pastures.

One of the most loved easy snowshoe walks is the one in Vallunga, the snow-covered valley of Val Gardena, flat and sheltered. For each route we give elevation gain, time and trail type, so you know where to snowshoe in the Dolomites based on your experience. In snowy terrain always check the avalanche bulletin and, off the beaten tracks, carry a transceiver, shovel and probe.
