The best cross-country tracks and sledding runs in the Dolomites, great for families.
There's more to the snow than downhill. Two gentler options suit just about everyone: cross-country skiing, which glides along the flat through woods and valley floors, and sledding, the kind of fun adults and kids enjoy in equal measure. We've sorted the cross-country loops and sledding runs by area and difficulty.
Val di Fiemme is the home of cross-country skiing here. It hosts World Cup races and has dozens of kilometres of groomed tracks. The Passo Lavazè loop is a lovely one too. For sledding, look for runs with their own lift, so you ride up in comfort and slide down safely. For each route we give the length and the effort, so families can find where to ski or sled without fuss.
