The finest cross-country tracks and sledding runs in the Dolomites, ideal for families.
Beyond downhill, the snow of the Dolomites offers two gentler experiences for everyone: cross-country skiing, which glides on the flat through woods and valley floors, and sledding, the snow fun favoured by grown-ups and children alike. Here you'll find cross-country loops and sledding runs sorted by area and difficulty.
The capital of cross-country skiing in the Dolomites is Val di Fiemme, host of World Cup races, with dozens of kilometres of groomed tracks; the Passo Lavazè loop is lovely too. For sledding, look for runs with a dedicated lift, where you ride up in comfort and slide down safely. For each route we give length and effort, so you can easily find where to ski cross-country or sled as a family.
